Gareth is the Managing Director at GWE Consulting Ltd overseeing a large team of engineers and scientists. Gareth has 25 years’ experience in all aspects of water and wastewater treatment, delivering residential, commercial and industrial projects in Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Gareth’s role involves detailed treatment and disposal options studies, assessment of environmental effects, client liaison, resource consent applications, and project implementation. He specialises in innovative on-site and decentralised system design for small community
wastewater treatment and disposal systems.

Colin is a technical director and civil engineer with strong strategic, interpersonal and leadership skills. He has 35 years’ experience on a wide range of “3 waters” infrastructure projects in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and in the Pacific Islands.

At a technical level Colin advises clients on asset development strategies and the design, consenting and construction phases of stormwater, water and wastewater projects for council and developer clients.

At a project level, Colin manages multi-party inputs to meet client and project demands. He monitors project quality procedures to ensure that work is undertaken by the appropriate staff, that project systems are followed, and peer reviews are completed. He provides advice on contractual risk on large projects.

Robin is a highly experienced Chartered civil and geotechnical engineer with 29 years practice experience in geotechnical and dam/hydroelectric engineering. He has worked in vastly varying conditions investigating and designing civil/geo components of all scales of projects throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Management of complex civil engineering projects is a particular skill of Robin, where he brings his practical and hands-on approach into play to simplify and streamline arrangements for faster and easier construction with fewer issues and delays.
More recently Robin has returned to focus on specialist geotechnical engineering for residential, land development, subdivision, and commercial projects. He enjoys mentoring our geotechnical team and sharing his project experience with solving difficult situations.

Patrick is a professional mechanical/process engineer with over ten years of experience working with clients on the whole lifecycle of multidisciplinary projects in New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Southern Africa. Patrick’s career experience includes working for design firms and large scale mining and construction companies in the design, consenting and implementation of wastewater treatment
and disposal schemes for developer and council clients.

Tobias is a Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand (CMEngNZ) and a member of the
New Zealand Geotechnical Society (NZGS). After graduating from University of Auckland with a master’s degree, he worked as a mining tenement consultant before joining the geotechnical profession in 2013.

Tobias’ experience covers a wide range of geotechnical engineering areas with a particular focus on residential, light commercial and industrial projects and subdivisions.

Maria is the Water Sector Lead at GWE, managing the transition to the new water regulations. Maria has 13 years’ experience in many aspects of the water supply, from source water to treatment and distribution as well as a Drinking Water Assessor and assisting clients with compliance with the Drinking Water Standards for New Zealand.
Maria’s role involves technical project management, water supply concept designs, water safety plans, DWSNZ compliance advice and expertise as well as providing technical inputs on projects.

Mona is a Civil and Environmental Engineer specialising in stormwater management and water sensitive urban design. She has 12 years’ experience in the three waters industry in both the private and public sectors, with a focus on catchment, network and flood modelling using a wide range of modelling software, drainage and green infrastructure design, catchment management and master planning. Mona enjoys working with multi-disciplinary teams and strives to develop innovative and practical design solutions not only meeting clients’ requirements but also producing great outcomes for the environment and future generations.

John is a Technical Director and manager of our expanding Land Development division, overseeing a skilled mix of civil, environmental and waters engineers. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with 20 years’ experience in Land Development, including small and large scale residential, commercial, retail and industrial for both greenfield and brownfield developments. John is advising clients on their developments, maximising potential in the current climate of unitary rules and complex development scenarios and is known for providing cost-effective practical solutions.
