PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Formosa Golf Resort and Country Club is one of New Zealand’s premier golf destinations set on a coastal course with panoramic views of Waiheke Island, Rangitoto and the Hauraki Gulf.

GWE was retained by the company to obtain a renewal of a resource consent for the treatment and disposal of domestic wastewater from the golf club, hotel and associated facilities. This work was a part of a response to enforcement action by Auckland Council due to poor performance of the installed treatment plant and disposal system.  The outcome was a remediated design of the wastewater treatment plant and land disposal scheme using

pressure compensating dripper irrigation that was located within the golf course. GWE carried out a process review and upgrade to the existing wastewater treatment plant.

Once the design was completed, GWE prepared the assessment of environmental effects (AEE) from the activities and successfully applied for a new resource consent for wastewater treatment and disposal on site.
