Kapiara District Council – Enuring Compliant Water Treatment Plants
Client: Kaipara District Council
Location: Kaipara District
Project Value: Undisclosed
Sector: 3 Waters
Completion: 2024
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
GWE Consulting Engineers was engaged by Kaipara District Council (KDC) to conduct a compliance audit of the district’s water treatment plants. These facilities, which had been compliant under previous regulations, faced new challenges due to the introduction of the Water Services Act 2021 and the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules 2022.
Our role involved a thorough audit that evaluated the treatment plants’ infrastructure, sampling protocols, and operational procedures, alongside the analysis of extensive operational data captured by the plants’ instrumentation and control systems. This comprehensive review enabled GWE to provide KDC with practical recommendations to align the water treatment facilities with the regulatory framework.
By assisting in optimizing plant operations and ensuring that all regulatory requirements were met, GWE played a vital role in supporting the continued provision of safe and reliable drinking water for the district’s communities.
