PROJECT DESCRIPTION
GWE (formerly MGG) played a pivotal role in the development of a residential subdivision in North Hamilton, encompassing several lots on a sloping site characterised by challenging sensitive clay and low-strength colluvial soils. Our involvement began at the initial phase, assisting with the land use consent application and conducting preliminary site investigations. This early engagement ensured that potential issues were identified and addressed, facilitating a smoother approval process.
As part of our comprehensive subdivision consulting and design advice, GWE we took on the crucial task of designing and overseeing the construction of retaining walls. Their meticulous attention to detail and technical expertise ensured the structural integrity and stability of the challenging terrain.
Additionally, GWE we performed earthfill compaction testing and certification, a vital step in ensuring that the soil compaction met the required standards for safe and sustainable development.
Post-construction, GWE continued to support the project with thorough investigations and reporting. They designed individual on-site stormwater systems, inspected construction improvements related to lot development, and supervised slab-on-grade and driven pile installations. This extensive oversight ensured that the entire subdivision met rigorous quality and safety standards, solidifying GWE’s reputation as a reliable partner in complex residential development projects.
