Introducing GWE’s Wastewater Manager, Patrick O’Riordan

Patrick joined GWE as a senior wastewater engineer over 3 years ago to provide specialist, small community wastewater solutions for our clients in South Auckland and the Waikato/Bay of Plenty area. Last year Patrick was promoted to his current position and has taken on a national wastewater role, managing a team of 5 wastewater engineers from our new offices in Takapuna.

Patrick’s career experience includes working for a multinational firm of consulting engineers in the area of wastewater plant and process design, working for local government on consenting 3 waters projects and working for large-scale mining and construction firms on wastewater project implementation. He has worked on a range of projects in New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Southern Africa.


In his current role, Patrick has reached the consulting equivalent of Nirvana, using his professional skills in helping to restore and preserve the environment in New Zealand by implementing innovative, cost-effective solutions for domestic, commercial and industrial wastewater schemes.


Recently, he has been involved with a series of landmark projects for GWE including the Living Building Challenge at Camp Glenorchy Eco-Retreat, Castaways Resort in Waiuku and Man O’War Bay Vineyards on Waiheke Island.
